Arm Lift Plastic Surgery

Many people find themselves affected by excess skin or fat in the upper arms, caused by aging, genetics, or significant weight loss. While exercise can help to reduce unwanted fat and tone the muscle in this area, it cannot address sagging, excess skin and tissue. Additionally, arm exercises may prove ineffective for some individuals, sometimes due to heredity or a medical condition.

Arm lift surgery (“brachioplasty”) with board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Reedy can reshape your upper arms to appear more toned and attractive. Typically, the procedure can address the length of the underarm to the elbow. Dr. Reedy carefully removes excess sagging skin, fat, and subcutaneous tissue, leaving your arms much firmer and better toned. As with any procedure, some scarring will result, but these are usually well-hidden on the underside of the arm and will fade over time.

As with other body contouring procedures, if there is a high concentration of fat in the area, we may determine that liposuction is appropriate for you as well. If this is the case, liposuction may be performed prior to, or in conjunction with, arm lift surgery.
